Cry Baby Cry

by Hector Diego

One critic wrote that all of Lennon's melodies have the sophistication of "Row Your Boat." Be that as it may, "Row Your Boat" is a classic that will be sung a thousand years from now. And so will Lennon's compositions.

that critic is nuts. what about help, nowhere man, norwegian wood, lucy in the sky, strawberry fields, i am the walrus, a day in the life, watching the wheels, starting over, jealous guy, etc. ?

i'd like to see that critic write something as great as any of those songs. do you know who this critic was or when he wrote that?

whatever - lennon's songs are sophisticated enough for me to keep listening to them for 30 years and for the rest of my life.
