Slowdive, Some Velvet Morning

by Hector Diego

Rachel Goswell of Slowdive

I am very fond of "Some Velvet Morning", and I have posted several versions of it on The Walrus Speaks. I believe you can't beat the classic original by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra from 1968. The lyrics are quite suggestive.

"Some velvet morning when I'm straight, I'm gonna open up your gate."

Hmmm...
