yeah rilo, yeah philly. i lived in university city in philly from 97 to 03 - what a town! i miss it.

a lot of folks at 'songmeanings.net' think this song is about being depressed or more specifically bipolar. i think i agree. sometimes you're petrified and can't move and sometimes when you're on, you're really f'n on. but you fight it as best you can. the lyrics are great. jenny finds the silver lining.

Hey Derek. I agree with you, but I would sya that bipolar issues are an extreme version of what we all go through, you know, the highs and the lows.

I see the song as both a statement of our values, and the difficulty of living up to them.

It's one of my very favorite songs.
