American Artist Burl Ives, Long Black Veil

Burl Ives (1909-1995) was blacklisted as a communist. He hung out with Woody Guthrie, so that makes sense.

It was artists like Ives, Guthrie, Leadbetter, and Seeger that inspired Dylan, and influenced the Viet Nam era anti-war movement.
